New Zero Issues Comic Podast! This time we debate Marvel vs. DC through the ages and decide once and for all who WINS COMICS.

It’s officially official: the new Ghostbusters team will have women on it.

Awesome. This is the best thing that could have happened to the Ghostbusters series. Let’s be real here: Harold Ramis is dead and Bill Murray’s unlikely to come back. This breathes new life into the whole concept, and those are some damn talented folks running the show.I’m sure they have better thoughts about this than I ever could, but here’s what I’d do: bring back Dan Aykroyd, Annie Potts and Ernie Hudson in supporting roles to pass the torch. Janine is still behind that desk and has probably threatened to quit 10,000 times. Stantz and Zeddemore stick around as technical advisors. Work in a surprise Murray cameo and you’re golden. Hell, here’s a free joke: Ray just paid off those mortgages. The new team could (should?) be funny up-and-comers. And this should be their movie - go easy on the nostalgia. The old cast members shouldn’t be the focus. Make them all funny, unique and endearing characters in the same kind of way the original cast were. That’s what makes it work. And here’s my own campaign: cast Jessica Williams as one of the new Ghostbusters. She’d be incredible.I’m already excited for this.

New comic! The Faith-Eater hungers…

With all the heat Anita Sarkeesian gets for her Tropes series, you’d think it was a new topic, but Gene Siskel & Roger Ebert had a discussion on a similar theme when they were talking about the influx of slasher movies on their show in 1980.

Episode 20: Game Changers - Batman is a Series of Circles

zeroissuespodcast:

This week, we’re tackling game changers, with very little prep! Hopefully it doesn’t show! Those things that have come, seemingly out of nowhere, and changed the comic book industry. Grim ‘n gritty reimaginings, non big-two comic publishers, the balance of art and writing (it was a little off in the ’90s, y’know), and the whiplash effect of what happens after Grant Morrisson leaves a book.

Tragedies of life

It’s one thing to retweet these. They’re great.

It’s another to deliberately crop off the artist’s credit line to try to make sure no one knows who really made them or where they’re from.

For the record, they’re by the excellent Benjamin “Bendouille” Dewey, and they’re from http://tragedyseries.tumblr.com

And you’re a turd, omgbuglen.
